Earlier this month, the IRS released new resources explaining the tax credits available to employers voluntarily opting to provide paid family leave and sick leave under FFCRA and ARPA. This is went into effect 4/1/21 and goes through 9/30/21. There is no carry over from last year. It will allow up to 80 hours of paid COVID sick leave for an employee who is out with COVID or an employee who is out because they have to care for a family member with COVID. It also has FMLA allowances for COVID. Talk with your payroll specialist or accountant to see how you can claim these tax credits.
