Compassion Fatigue-Lunch and Learn for KCMS Practice Managers and Medical Staff

The Kane County Medical Society is pleased to cohost a "Lunch and Learn" with Presence Life Connections at Presence Mercy Medical Center. Join us on Thursday, August 14, 2014 from 11:45 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. for a special presentation for all KCMS practice managers, nurses, social workers, and medical staff who deal directly with patients. Carrie Shearer from Presence Life Connections will present a program on Compassion Fatigue. A complimentary lunch will be provided and 1 CEU credit will be provided for RN's and SW's who attend the program in its entirety. Nurses and Social Workers are faced with difficult situations on a daily basis, despite their own personal stresses. Being able to recognize the contributing factors to compassion fatigue, the symptoms of compassion fatigue and the impact it has on a healthcare providers ability to perform their jobs can help identify potential blocks and stepping stones to authentic wellness. You will learn the negative effects of compassion fatigue on healthcare providers, the stress of caring, and potential consequences of untreated compassion fatigue.
